School Uniform

At West Ewell Primary School and Nursery we have high standards for our teaching and learning, achievements, attitude and well-being. We want every child at our school to feel a sense of pride at belonging to our community and expect their appearance to reflect those high standards.

Details of our school uniform requirements are listed below. If you are in any doubt as to what is acceptable please contact the school office before you purchase items.

Help us reunite lost items with their owners by ensuring all items worn or brought to school are named.

• Long hair must be tied back please. This means all of the hair, not just the front section. As a guide, if it is long enough to go back it should go back.
• Black polishable shoes should be worn to school, or plain black or white trainers on PE days.
• School bags should be a navy backpack (a version with the school logo is available). The old style navy book bag is still acceptable up to the end of Year 2.
• Shirts should be tucked in.
• No skirts or skorts for PE please, the uniform is navy shorts (no shorter than halfway to knee) or long navy bottoms.
• If earrings are worn to school, these should be plain studs and must be removed by the child for PE.

Socks	White or grey socks, ankle-length or just below the knee or grey tights
Bag	Navy backpack (available with school logo)
Hat	Blue hat / cap in school for summer months (available with school logo) Blue winter hat (optional, available with school logo)

• Bourne - yellow
• Hogsmill - blue
• Horton - green
• Ruxley - red

Other Requirements

Hair	Sensible haircuts and styles appropriate for school No hair dye No shorter than Grade 3 Long hair must be tied back and fringes must not obstruct vision Blue, plain and simple hair bands, clips or Alice bands
Jewellery & make-up	No jewellery, with the exception of plain stud earrings, which must be removed by the child for PE Watches can be worn at the parents' own risk (no smart watches) No make-up, no nail varnish, no tattoos/temporary transfers
Wellies	(Nursery and Year R only) Wellington boots to be kept in school
Food & drink	Water bottles and packed lunch bags must be clearly named on the outside
