Enriching Opportunities

At West Ewell Primary we are committed to providing the broadest educational offering and that means looking beyond the National Curriculum.

We strive to provide a sense of awe and wonder that instils a thirst for learning. Therefore, embedded throughout the curriculum, are enrichment opportunities to make learning memorable through hands on learning experiences, hooks for learning and a variety of visits and visitors.

Clubs

We offer pupils a wide range of engaging clubs. The school closely monitors the children who attend clubs so that we can be sure they are accessible to all groups of pupils. Some clubs are run by external companies, but the majority are organised and run by school staff, either before school, at lunch times or after school. Recent popular clubs have been Running Club, Christmas Craft Club, Gardening Club and Times Tables Rockstars Club!

Trips

Children enjoy a range of trips that deepen their knowledge in a particular area of the curriculum. Some of our recent trips are recorded on our enrichment map below.

Collaborative Learning Opportunities

Children have the opportunity to attend sports events and academic competitions with local primary and secondary schools. This allows them to share their ideas and develop their understanding of key concepts with their peers.

Community Links

We have strong links Bourne Hall Museum and Epsom and Ewell High School, who regularly lend us resource boxes so that the children can explore a topic through real life artefacts. Epsom Male Voice Choir visited us to perform carols for and with us on our last Christmas Extravaganza Day and we have remained in regular contact with them; we hope to be able to explore this link further in the future.
